About Me

I’m working on updating this page.  Hang in there with me.

This Life

I am working on creating the life I want as I type.  I’m trying to find my voice and my calling via this blog.

I am one of the statistics.  I am underemployed.  I lost my job last November.  Fortunately a previous employer heard that I was available and asked me to come back as a temporary contractor.

Losing my job was such a blessing.  I hated it.  I was downright miserable.  My clients were horrible and treated me that way.  They beat me down physically and emotionally.  I had planned to leave but I was fortunate enough to get a 3 month severance.  It gave me time to recover and plan our wedding.

The change also gave me a push to find myself again.  I realized that in my 2 years in that miserable job I had spent almost no time nuturing my friendships, no time volunteering, no time on me or my health, and not time on my other passions.

Now I’m blessed to have time to craft, cook and garden.  I just started checking out women’s organizations and hope to get involved and out of the house soon.  I’ve signed up to take some classes.  The hubby & I are doing Weight Watchers together and making health a priority.  I no longer travel for work (thank goodness) which means I have joy in little day trips and look forward to our big vacations.

I’m not perfect and I certainly haven’t created the perfect life yet.  However, I have a good life now.  I’m happy.  I’m nuturing my friendships and my creative pursuits.  I’m in love and am so very lucky to absolutely love the work I’m doing.

I have a few quotes posted around my home and workspace that serve as reminders to embrace this life.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself.  Life is about creating yourself.” ~ author unknown

“Live with intention.  Walk to the edge.  Listen hard.  Practice wellness.  Play with abandon.  Laugh.  Choose with no regret.  Continue to learn.  Appreciate your friends.  Do what you love.  Live as if this is all there is.” ~ Mary Anne Radmacher
